Reencuentro
A masterpiece about friendship.
Reencuentro tells the intense friendship, in 1932 Germany, that arises between two sixteen-year-olds ―Hans Schwarz, born into a Jewish family, and Konradin von Hohenfels, an aristocrat and member of one of the oldest European families― when they meet at an exclusive school in Stuttgart. However, soon everything will start to go wrong: with Hitler’s rise to power, Konradin joins the Hitler Youth while Hans flees into exile. Only much later does Hans “reencounter,” in a surprising and moving way, his old friend.
“A small masterpiece… I sincerely believe this volume will hold a lasting place in any library.” Arthur Koestler
“A moving work. A true rediscovery, a genuine gem, that speaks of how historical circumstances can challenge friendship.” John Boyne, author of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
