Founded in 1995 by the bookstores Berkana (Madrid) and Cómplices (Barcelona) with the goal of making LGBTQ literature in Spanish visible, Egales has been a pioneer in bringing novels, memoirs, and essays with diverse and dissident voices to the Spanish public.

With over 25 years of experience, Egales has published national and international authors, collaborated with cultural organizations, and promoted the visibility of queer literature in Ibero-American media.
